ETL Developer

Deb has been at OtisEd for almost five years and works in the Data Management Team. While her main focus is in SQL development (SQL Server), she occasionally works in other languages, especially when they intersect with database development, such as JSON. Deb has contributed to projects for CEDS, K12, Post Secondary, PDPR, and Accountability Report Card.

Experienced SQL Server Developer with over 30 years of hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining relational database systems across diverse industries. Skilled in T-SQL programming, database performance tuning, data modeling, and ETL processes, with a proven ability to translate business requirements into efficient, scalable data solutions.

Demonstrated success in optimizing legacy systems, supporting data migrations, and ensuring data integrity and reliability in high-volume environments. Adept at troubleshooting complex issues, improving query performance, and implementing best practices for database design and maintenance.

Known for a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality data solutions that support critical business operations.

Earned a Master’s Degree in Technical Communication from Texas Tech University.

Lives a quiet life with her three dogs: Fezzik, Buttercup, and Inigo “Monty” Montoya. Enjoys turning off her brain and watching TV, engaging in recreational sleeping, and appreciates the paintings of Edvard Munch.
