What We Deliver
A fully hosted, cloud-based reporting platform. The SRC is hosted in a dedicated Microsoft Azure environment, provisioned and segregated specifically for Kentucky and interoperable with the Kentucky Educational Technology System (KETS). The architecture includes separate development, test, and production environments for both the Private Report Card (for authenticated state, district, and school users working with unsuppressed data) and the Public Report Card (for ducators, families, researchers, legislators, and the general public).
Two major public releases each year. We prepare, stage, and publish the Accountability and Key Topics release each fall and the Finance release each spring, with a structured preview period that allows KDE staff, districts, and press to validate data before public release.
End-to-end data management. Powered by our iMart Zipline data management framework and Nimble Reporting application, the platform ingests data from various sources. It handles validation, transformation, suppression rule enforcement, and publication workflows, while maintaining a complete audit trail of changes.
Role-based security with delegated district administration. Granular, role-based permissions govern who can view unsuppressed data, edit narratives, and download datasets. Districts are empowered to manage their own users, reducing administrative burden on KDE while preserving
centralized oversight. All access is integrated with Kentucky's identity provider.
Accessible, exible public presentation. The public site works across modern browsers without plugins, supports English and Spanish through integrated translation services, and offers downloadable datasets in CSV, Excel, and PDF formats.
Annual modernization. The SRC evolves each year to reflect changing Kentucky and federal legislative requirements, new accountability metrics, and KDE priorities. We bring more than two decades of experience adapting accountability reporting systems through major federal transitions
(ESEA to NCLB to ESSA) across multiple states.
Service-level commitments. We operate the platform under a dened SLA including authorized data les loaded within one business day, high-severity issues resolved within four working hours, scheduled downtime communicated in advance, and a two-day recovery window against a two-week point-in-time restore capability. A dedicated, fully staffed help desk and a single point of contact ensure that KDE has responsive day-to-day support.
Why It Matters
Kentucky's educators, families, legislators, and researchers rely on the School Report Card to understand how the Commonwealth's schools are performing and where investment and support are needed most. Our work ensures that this information is accurate, timely, secure, transparent, and genuinely useful — empowering data-driven decisions at every level of the system, from the classroom to the statehouse.
